Disney Directory 07/1967 (I)

Well, that teaches me to wear a warm hat outside...
Today and the next two days I will post the phone directory of the Disney Studio of July 1967. It is half a year after Walt's passing, the month that The Happiest Millionaire premiered at The Pantages in Hollywood, three months before The Jungle Book's release.

Since I do not have the WED/MAPO/RETLAW or Disneyland parts of the directory currently available to me, it is ONLY the studio part...

We see the "Data Processing" department, with Computer Room and Tabulating & Keypunch. How modern!
In the name part, I found it interesting to see how many times we find the last name of someone we know from the 30s, with different first names--or a lady's first name as well as a gent's. It seems that for many, this was a family business. Mind you, I don't blame them, as long as their offspring doesn't just throw out their "old junk," for it can contain a wealth of information on how the films were produced, and for me, that's what it's all about...

Some names of note on these pages: James Algar (producer/director), Ken Anderson (art director), Dale Barnhardt (layout), Johnny Bond (head of clean-up), Jack Boyd & Jack Buckley (Effects), Larry Clemmons (story), Eric Cleworth (animation), Jack Cutting (International), Don Da Gradi (story), Basil Davidovich (layout), Al Dempster (BG). Several of these gents started with Walt in the 30s...

There's a "Joe Barbera" in there.

Moonlighting after hours, no doubt... Though, after due consideration, I'd guess it to be ANOTHER Joe Barbera (how many Joe Barberi can there be???)
