A short but interesting article.
Frank Thomas says in it: 'Our selection is more difficult because in the features we use sincere voices. Television cartoons can get by with trick voices because they're aimed strictly for comedy.'
Too bad that's not always the case in features today.
It would be interesting to compare the 1957 and 1961 occupants of 2C. In addition to Rietherman , Davidovich, and Gossin; in 1957 2C also included directors Jim Hannah and Jack Kinney, storyman Al Bertino, layout artist Lance Nolley and background artist Ray Huffine. All of these were gone from Disney by 1961.
I moved up to 2C in 1966 to work on "The Jungle Book." I always felt it was an honor to be there since I was well aware of who had preceded me.
I still visit the old building even today. It continues to hold wonderful memories for me.
