Prod. 2519 - The Rescuers (I)  - Seq. 920 - Titles and Credits

Here we go!
001002003004005
Directed by Woolie Reitherman, assistant director Jeffrey Patch, layout Don Griffith, secretary Lorraine [Thilman].
This FINAL draft dated 4/6/1977.

Otherwise very little info as to names - only two scenes have actual animation - by Andy Gaskill. IMDb mentions Eric Larson, Burny Mattinson and Mel Shaw for "titles," and I would very much like to hear from anyone who can add to this!

I have seen the Rescuers, but not for a long time, and I'm too busy to be watching it on YouTube again, so I'll try my best and remeber parts of the film!!

Ahh, this was John Lounsbery's final film before his death, such a great draughstman!! RIP John.

How many sequences are there in the Rescuers? The Illusion of Life say there's 14 sequences!

HAHAHA! Notice that the scenes without any actual animation leave the "ARTIST" field blank - the "MUSIC ROOM" scenes have plenty of animation... but it's all reused. That's our Woolie! I'm guessing that's just a taster for what's to come.

I'll definitely be watching your blog like a hawk. Even though a lot of people I know have put this movie down, I always loved The Rescuers. It was a very special film to me as a kid. It's very sincere.

Thanks again in advance, Hans!

John V, I never realised that - Woolie is more the recycler!! That's probably why he's great for saving money!! Recycling animation!! Good one, John. LOL
