Prod. 2220 - Society Dog Show

Ok, it seems the last page is missing. Still, this is better than nothing, I guess... Check with Treasures DVD: Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Vol. 2.
Directed by Bill Roberts, music Ollie Wallace - I find some of the credits rather surprising. Leo Salkin? A single Fred Moore scene?
This draft 10/17/1938, released 2/3/1939.
Oh, and 4 Eugster scenes, Mark!

I wonder who "Hoskins" is. A misspelling of Paul Hopkins or even Emery Hawkins?

It's a shame you don't have the rest of the draft.

I'm amazed at how fragmented the scene assignments are. Except for Fergy, no animator gets more than a few shots in a row and often every new shot is by another animator.

I really wish I knew if Culhane had more scenes. He writes about this cartoon in his autobiography and makes it sound like it was an important one for him, but there's not really a lot of his work here. As he trained under Roberts, you would think that Roberts would have given Culhane some opportunities, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Hans, do you have any other drafts for cartoons directed by Roberts? Was this his typical approach to assigning scenes or was this cartoon different for some reason?

Hi Hans, thanks for posting these drafts. I love Culhane's and Lundy's cartoons but I'm not as familiar with their animation at Disney, these will certainly help me get aquainted with their styles.
