This FINAL draft dated 3/22/77.
Starting with scenes 101 to 123, we continues from number 1.
This sequence has animation by Milt Kahl (Medusa and Snoops), John Pomeroy (Penny), Stan Green and Dick Lucas (Medusa in Swampmobile), Jack Buckley (more fireworks), Cliff Nordberg (Evinrude and his boat load), Bob McCrea (Swampmobile) and Don Bluth (Mice).
Milt's animation is, of course, the highlight of this sequence...

I like these scenes of Mr. Snoops and the Crocodiles and Milt Kahl does a good job with those characters.
Well this is a nice development. I was starting to think that Kahl and Woolie weren't working with eachother.
It's interesting to note here that these were the first scenes recorded by Geraldine Page as Medusa, (in one take apparently), and subsequently the first scenes of Medusa that Milt Kahl animated.
You can see, when compared to other scenes in the picture, that the visual development of the character moves on from these slightly more angular, less cartoony and thinner drawings of Medusa, as Mr. Kahl obviously got into step with drawing her.
Also it is famously noted that he did most of his own breakdowns and inbetweens on Medusa and I wonder if this first scene was the benchmark for that decision as there are some truly terrible off-model inbetweens in this sequence.
Perhaps the differences in Medusa's animation don't stem from experience, but from the directorial prefferences of Woolie Reitherman? I'll bet he's on here because John Lounbery wasn't around and available, still working on 'Pooh and Tigger' when this was made.
